Ballet Garifuna
At the Mayan
School we had the privilege of hosting the National Garifuna Ballet. Our student
body came in contact with their heritage as they performed for us their tribal
dances. Everyone in the audience enjoyed the performance which turned into a
learning experience when their lead performer, Ashanti, recited a beautiful poem
written by herself. We were honored to have them in our school and we hope to
see them again.
